Our mission is to put women’s health in women’s hands. We’re starting with the birth control pill, because missed pills, hormone imbalance, and unplanned pregnancy are all too common parts of the pill experience. From smoother periods to clear skin to pregnancy prevention, the pill has a hand in it all. We decided it was time to take matters into our own hands and design a system that really works.
Absolutely. While we don't offer phone support, you can communicate with a "real" person if you're not finding answers to your questions here in Emme FAQ. Please submit a help ticket with your question/issue and a very nice, helpful "real" person will get back to you as soon as possible.
Yes, 100%. Emme does not share or sell any data to anyone, ever. Emme follows HIPAA guidelines, which are national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent or knowledge. One notable differentiation for how Emme handles your data: under HIPPA covered entities must retain your health data for 6 years. Emme is not a HIPPA covered entity, and as such Emme is able to (and does) delete your patient records upon your request. More information regarding HIPAA can be found here: HIPAA.
Emme collects and stores two types of data to provide you with comprehensive medical solutions:
Personal information, such as your age, email, career data, device location (for bluetooth connection) and if purchases are made, financial information (similar to your Apple wallet) and other forms of personal information.
Personal health information (PHI) you provide, which can include medications, symptoms, or anything else that would help Emme create a comprehensive medical profile that can benefit you more accurately.
Emme maintains your data (encrypted) through our secure cloud-based servers. This ensures that you will have access and the ability to restore your data even if you delete the app or change phones. In order to save your data, you will be prompted to create an account with your email and a secure password during setup. If you ask us to delete your health care records (we require that you request this via email or via post) we will delete your health care records, and these deleted records become non-recoverable.
If you close your Emme account, your account and all data you have recorded in the Emme App is permanently deleted from Emme. The account and data are not recoverable.
Emme uses a comprehensive security program based on national HIPAA regulations and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Emme also uses end-to-end encryption that prevents third parties from accessing personal information.
