Absolutely! All of our clinicians are licensed in the state in which they are prescribing birth control.
At this time we are not able to accept outside prescriptions, but our medical team can help you get set up with a similar prescription delivered by Emme. See our pills list to review the list of pills that we are currently able to deliver. To start this process, you can share the name of your current prescription in the online intake form, and indicate that you would like something similar.
Our selection of birth control pills are FDA-approved and only available by prescription, just like pills you receive at your local pharmacy.
In the online intake form, you will answer a number of questions to provide information about your goals for the pill and your general experience. You may select a preferred pill if you know which one you want, but in any case our licensed clinicians will review the information you provide in the intake form to provide a prescription for a birth control pill they believe will be safe and effective for you.
Most people who take birth control pills do not experience side effects or only experience mild side effects for the first few months. The most common side effects you may experience include:
Refer to the patient education form that comes with your prescription to review the symptoms and side effects. You can always contact the pharmacy using the info provided on the patient education form if you have specific questions.
Emme offers a free Pill and Health Tracker app where you can conveniently record any symptoms and side effects you are having in order to keep track of your experience.
Yes, the pill brands prescribed by our clinicians will fit the Emme Smart Case and can be tracked with the Emme Pill and Health Tracker App.
Yes, free ground shipping is available for all prescriptions.
We accept payment with American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, and FSA/HSA benefit cards.
Yes, your consultation and birth control pills are covered by FSA/HSA. Remember to save your receipt for reimbursement. You can also pay for your prescription with your FSA/HSA debit card.
We do not accept insurance at this time, but we have worked to ensure that our offering is as affordable as possible. In many cases, the online consultation and birth control pills offered with EmmeRx are less expensive than a standard copay would be with insurance.
Your prescription should be active for 12 months. Depending on the subscription shipment plan that you sign up for, we will automatically ship your refills with one or three packs at a time.
All birth control prescriptions are shipped out with USPS First Class mail. You should receive your order within two to five days, depending on your shipping address, and you will receive a notification when the order has shipped.
Once your order has shipped, you can find the tracking number in your profile on app.emme.com. You will also receive a text message with a link to the tracking details.
For birth control pills:
In accordance with Food and Drug Administration regulations, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges of birth control pills. Once a medication has been dispensed, the FDA does not allow prescription medications to be returned to a retailer.

If you are unable to receive a prescription from us, we will gladly refund your telemedicine consultation of $15.00.
